Security at Atlas Assurance Deposit is not a single measure — it is a layered system of physical barriers, electronic surveillance, biometric access controls, environmental monitoring, and human oversight, all operating in concert around the clock.
Our vault was designed by security engineers with experience in central bank and sovereign wealth fund facilities. Every element, from the reinforced concrete vault room to the software-based audit logging, was specified to exceed the minimum standards by a significant margin.
Our vault room is built to EN 1143-1 Grade X classification — the highest rating available for private custodial facilities in the United Kingdom. This classification certifies resistance to all known forced-entry methods including high-speed drilling, thermal cutting, explosive attack, and sustained mechanical assault. The vault door alone weighs in excess of two tonnes and requires three independent unlocking mechanisms to open.
Entry to the vault requires the simultaneous satisfaction of three independent authentication factors: iris recognition, fingerprint scanning, and a time-limited numerical PIN. No single factor is sufficient on its own. Every access attempt — successful or failed — is recorded in real time and stored in an independently hosted audit log that cannot be altered or deleted. Clients receive a copy of the access log relevant to their consignment upon request.
The facility operates a comprehensive network of high-definition CCTV cameras covering all internal and external areas, with no blind spots or dead zones. Camera feeds are monitored in real time by our control room and simultaneously transmitted to an off-site monitoring centre. In addition to visual surveillance, the facility employs seismic detectors, acoustic glass-break sensors, passive infrared motion detection, and thermal imaging throughout the vault area.
The preservation of your assets requires precise environmental management. Our vault maintains a constant temperature of 18–21°C with relative humidity held between 40–52% at all times. Particulate air filtration operates continuously. All environmental parameters are logged automatically every 15 minutes, and clients may request a full environmental report for their storage period at any time via the client portal.
The facility is staffed with armed security personnel around the clock, every day of the year. Our security team is provided by a specialist contractor with extensive experience in high-value asset protection. All personnel hold current SIA licences and have undergone enhanced DBS checks. The facility maintains a direct line to Police Scotland and can summon armed response within minutes.
Every claim we make about our security is independently verified by the relevant certifying body. We do not ask clients to take our word for it.
